Used to position Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) wings into a fixed open position by laying the wings down on the pinning surfaces with pinned strips of paper. The 2×12″ basswood pinning surfaces are angled at 165° for optimum display of specimens. The center pinning groove is variable from 0 to 5⁄8″ (016 mm) for specimens small to large.
